Dr. Alice Miao (yes pronounced “meow”) grew up in Markham, Ontario. From a young age, she dreamed of combining her love of animals and science in the field of veterinary medicine. After completing an undergraduate degree in Biology at Queen’s University, Dr. Miao moved to Guelph to study at the Ontario Veterinary College. During this time, she had the opportunity to travel to Thailand and volunteer for wildlife and rescue dog organizations.
Dr. Miao’s favourite part of her job is educating pet parents and working collaboratively with them to provide the best possible care for their animals. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery and dentistry, nutrition, and managing the stress of our furry friends in-clinic. Dr. Miao lives in Toronto with her partner and their rescue dog Nori. In her free time, Dr. Miao enjoys rewatching Friends, playing board games, and trying out new restaurants in the city.
