Yvonne joined Annex Animal Hospital in July 2025 and is excited to be part of its long-standing legacy of compassionate, community-focused veterinary care. She holds an Honours Degree in Biology and Psychology from York University, graduating in 2023.
Her love for animals began early—fostering countless puppies and kittens as a young child, even when her mom wasn’t fully on board! That passion led her to begin volunteering in 2016 and later take on a role as an Adoption and Foster Coordinator with Toronto Cat Rescue. Shortly after, she transitioned into the veterinary field, where she quickly found her stride.
As a veterinary technician, Yvonne has a strong interest in phlebotomy, venipuncture, laboratory diagnostics, and client education. She thrives in fast-paced clinical environments and finds fulfillment in critical care cases, pain management, and working closely with pet owners to provide clear, compassionate education. She's especially passionate about making vet visits less stressful for anxious pets, using fear-free handling techniques whenever possible. Yvonne is Fear Free Certified and holds RECOVER Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS & ALS) CPR certifications, equipping her with the skills to provide calm, competent care—even in emergency situations.
Whether she’s supporting veterinarian appointments, facilitating technician appointments, running lab tests, or ensuring the clinic flows smoothly day to day, Yvonne brings empathy, focus, and dedication to every aspect of her work. As a Practice Manager, she enjoys creating an environment where patients leave healthier and pet owners feel confident and supported. Outside of work, Yvonne loves to spend time with her husband and their four (yes, four) spirited Jack Russell Terrier puppies: Pongo, Koda, Trevor, and Nyla.
