It can be confusing when there are so many veterinary hospitals in your area. We encourage you to inquire about our staff and veterinary services. Ask about our suggestions for reducing anxiety when bringing your cat to see the doctor. While walking your dog, stop in for a brief introduction and a treat to give your dog a positive experience in the hospital. New clients and new pets are always welcome here.
We believe it is a privilege to be allowed to care for your pets. It is important to have an understanding of the level of care provided for your pets in the office and behind the scenes. Our standard of care encompasses safety, comfort, compassion, and the practice of progressive, high-quality medicine. This standard of care is accomplished in several ways. We use modern, high-quality medical equipment and diagnostic testing. Our veterinary care team has been carefully selected for their level of knowledge, experience, and proven ability to provide compassionate care. We employ Licensed Doctors of Veterinary Medicine and Registered Veterinary Technicians. Regular training and continuing education is a requirement for all of our team members.
Veterinary Services at Annex Animal Hospital
Using state of the art equipment and modern diagnostic techniques, we perform routine veterinary care, dental care, a variety of surgeries including spay/neuter, and diagnostic imaging services. A Registered Veterinary Technician carefully monitors all our patients during any surgical or dental procedure. We also monitor closely for comfort levels in order to reduce anxiety and provide pain management for all our patients. Hospital care protocols are customized for the needs of each individual pet.

Tick Prevention Recommended
Tick prevention remains a priority for our pets this spring: As the temperatures rise above 4 degrees, ticks become active and quest for food. Toronto Parks, woodland trails, grassy regions, and leaf piles all have the potential to contain ticks just waiting to hitch a ride on pets and humans. As we are already seeing pets with ticks this spring, our veterinarians feel that it is important to maintain vigilance by using tick protection on our pets.
With recent changes to restrictions on businesses, we are pleased to advise that effective May 19, 2020 the restrictions on veterinary practices have been lifted. Based on these changes, below are some important updates to our operating policies.
1. WE CAN NOW SEE ALL CASES BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
This includes vaccines, wellness exams, blood work, heartworm testing, spays and neuters, dental services, and more!
2. SAFETY MEASURES TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE
Continue our "closed waiting room" policy to protect our clients and staff. When you arrive, please remain outside the hospital and use your cell phone to call us. We will take a history of your pet's health and discuss any concerns. A staff member will then meet you outside to bring your pet into the hospital for an examination. The Veterinarian will call you to discuss the recommended treatment plan. After your appointment, a staff member will return your pet to you outside, and take care of any needed medications and payment.
Continue the use of credit cards as the preferred payment method.
