A regular annual examination is an important part of preventive health care for your cat and dog. A full range of vaccinations are available to protect your pets against a wide variety of diseases. Vaccination Services
Grooming Services
Glenda has many years of experience as a dog groomer. She grooms each dog according to your requirements. Grooming services are available for both clients and non-clients of the hospital. Proof of current vaccination status is required for pets that are not patients of the Annex Animal Hospital.
Please call ahead to book a professional grooming appointment. Glenda is available Monday through Friday by appointment only. New clients and their pets are always welcome!
Feline grooming services such as dematting and sanitary clips are performed by a hospital staff member. Please call us for further information about this service for your cat.
Boarding Services
We provide boarding care for dogs, cats, and pocket pets. All pets are individually housed with food, water, and bedding. Please note, the animal hospital is closed on Sundays and holidays. A fully trained Animal Care Attendant is on duty on weekends and holidays to care for all boarding pets.
Veterinary Diets
We carry the following veterinary diets for your dogs and cats:
- Hills Prescription Diets
- Medi-Cal Royal Canin Veterinary Diets
- Purina Veterinary Diets
- Iams Veterinary Diets
Nutrition Consultation
Balanced nutrition and weight management are an important part of your pet's health care. Our Registered Veterinary Technicians are always available to answer questions about nutritional requirements and weight management for your dog or cat.
Consultations for nutrition counselling and weight management include regular weigh-ins, and progress reports customized for each individual pet's requirements.
Dentistry & Oral Surgery
Dental hygiene and oral care are an important part of maintaining your pet’s health. We provide dental cleaning services and dental surgery using modern equipment in our dental suite. Dental x-rays for your dog and cat can be performed with our dedicated dental x-ray unit. Please call for an appointment to assess your pet’s dental needs.
Wellness Testing
With a small blood sample, we can perform a basic wellness profile for your dog or cat. This can be done in conjunction with their annual physical exam. Wellness laboratory testing is used to assist the veterinarian in detecting health problems at an early stage. Laboratory results provide valuable information to evaluate the condition of your pet's vital organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas, and heart. These tests can provide a baseline for future comparison to detect changes in your pet’s health.
Diagnostic Laboratory Testing
A wide variety of laboratory tests are available for your dog and cat. Complete blood counts, blood chemistry, urinalysis, parasite testing, and viral screening are just a few of the many tests performed by our off-site veterinary laboratory. Test results are received on the same business day for many of these tests.
Spay & Neuter Surgery
Spay and neuter surgery services are provided for dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs. All surgery patients receive intravenous fluids and medications for pain control while in the animal hospital.
Other soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries are also performed in our modern veterinary surgical suite.
Your pets receive complete care instructions and post-operative pain medications when they are discharged from the hospital by one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians. They will be happy to answer any of your questions about this process.
X-Ray Imaging Services
This imaging technique provides information to aid the veterinarian in diagnosing diseases and injuries of both bone and soft tissues. We have modern on-site equipment for diagnostic x-ray services including dental x-rays for your cat and dog.
Ultrasound Imaging Services
This non-invasive imaging technique is used to assist the veterinarian in diagnosing diseases of the heart, lungs, kidneys, bladder, liver, pancreas, and intestines. Cardiac and abdominal scans are available on-site or by referral. Please call for an appointment for your cat or dog.
Endoscopy Imaging Services
This imaging technique is used to assist the veterinarian in diagnosing diseases of the esophagus, stomach, and small intestines. Using this technique, the veterinarian is able to visualize the tissues and obtain samples (biopsies). These biopsies are then sent to a pathologist for analysis. This procedure is always performed with the dog or cat under anaesthesia.
Gastrointestinal endoscopy is available on-site in our modern surgical suite. Other endoscope procedures are available by referral. Please call for an appointment for your pet.
